Alex Zografov

Alex is gifted with musical genius. He is a brilliant virtuoso concert pianist, composer, arranger, musical director, and producer.  His music and his talent have covered a broad scope of styles from fusion, pop-rock, jazz, and classical, to musical theater and movie scores.  He has worked in Los Angeles with some of the greatest names in the music industry, such as Don Ellis, Nana Mouskouri, Frank Zappa, Joe Cocker, George Benson, and yet a whole galaxy of celebrities.
Alex is a prolific composer with a myriad of compositions for choir, symphony orchestra, and solo instruments. He has composed various musical theatrical works for children & youth. He was the Musical Director for the North American touring productions of musicals by Andrew Lloyd Webber.  He worked for many years with the "Rainbow Stage" production company out of Winnipeg with the unique mandate of using the best of North American professional performers, along with young upcoming performers in the industry. He has directed classics like "West Side Story", "Footloose", "Le Miserables", "Chicago", "Grease", "Evita", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Beauty and the Beast", and more.  He was the musical director for the pilot TV show "Mini Pops" which featured the most talented kids out of Los Angeles. In Los Angeles at the Seth Riggs Vocal Academy, Maestro Zografov worked with Michael and Janet Jackson.
As Musical Director for Diastasis Cultural Association in Cyprus, he introduced the contemporary musical genre on the island of Cyprus with amazing results seen today.  During his musical leadership, they performed at the Palace de Paris in France, at Wembley Stadium in England, and in the USA to full stadiums.  ​​He was the Musical Director for the opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Cyprus, and presented a Command Performance--personally congratulated by Queen Elizabeth II. ​
Other roles include Artist Director for the World Unit Foundation Trust - Arts for Peace, Founding member of the Boris Hristov Foundation in Sofia, Bulgaria, and arranger and conductor of the Cypriot entry in the Eurovision Song Contest "S.O.S." performed by Elena Patroclou.


Alex has 20 CD's and numerous recordings. "Land of Mystery" and "Rose Fever" are just two examples of pop song albums he composed and arranged in a unique blend of East and West.
Alex is well known for his charity work and still does at least one charity concert a month. He is passionate about passing his vast musical expertise to those willing to learn.  Currently, he has finished the musical fantasy "Vive Orphay", and is promoting its first performance in Europe. The work envisages 100 pipers on stage, a cast of dancers, singers, and soloists, including Boiko Zvetanov (Leading Tenor of the Zurich Opera), and Stoyan Bonchev (an upcoming bass singer), backed by a folklore as well as a symphony orchestra. The work is just an example of the vast scope and vision of the composer.
